Balneo Complex & Spa Aquatonik - Velingrad

The spa lounge was great to relax. Good base for a city break in Velingrad.

Free WiFi was a welcome feature. Nothing bothered me, we would definitely recommend this place to family and friends

Swimming pool not open for an early morning swim or late evening swim

Nice, quiet hotel with good services. Friendly personnel with who was difficult to ommunicate because only a few of them could speak Englisch.

Quite far from the city center which was good as well (very quiet hotel)

Excellent value,all the staff very friendly including the cleaning ladies,spa services excellent, nothing was too much trouble for anyone, the manager was especially helpful would recommend most highly. Thanks to everyone who made our holiday very enjoyable, entertainment at night was also very good.

A clean, modern hotel with natural Spa.

No currency exchange at the hotel and only few options around the hotel . Few of the rooms were not so confortable,wifi access at the reception only

It's a 4 * hotels under international standing! Very slow and poor room service. Booked a studio flat for 4 adults: 1 bedroom (for 2) , 1 sitting room with sofa bed(for 2). Upon arrival: not sufficient articles for 4 users. Missing beauty-bathroom set, bar with one kettle but no mugs. Sofa bed too hard. We asked extra blankets, duvets... took 4 hours to the rooms service to bring us the missing elements. Very kind staff but unfortunately not very efficient. Difficult communication due to the fact that few speak English.. More a Bulgarian hotel for Bulgarian guest.

The only negative thing I can say about the hotel is that the staff don't speak English or any other language except Bulgarian. Anyway I am greatly satisfied by the Restaurant Staff!

It was very relaxing, staff was friendly, the restaurant food was excellent and different than what you find traditionally around Bulgaria which was a refreshing change, (nice cuts of meat, very tender and cooked in different and interesting ways, delicious). There were lots of elegantly dressed waiters and service was excellent. This was a pleasant surprise. You really felt like you were getting something special.

The steam room was broken, I was disappointed about that. Steam rooms are my favorite. Also the slippery tile makes me incredibly nervous around the pool. But I know this is the material they use all over Bulgaria in spas and around pools. Nothing in the U.S. is constructed using a slippery substance like tile in a wet place; it would be a hay day for law suits. I'm not a sue-happy type, but the danger of slipping makes me truly nervous every time I walk on it with wet feet. I saw one man slip by the pool. I think there should be some non-skid tread or thick rubber matting in the walk areas around the pool and especially leading up to the saunas. The water pools there and I nearly slipped there several times. It's dangerous.

Food was good and spa/ pools/ gym lovely/ gardens nice

Aquatonic pool and spa center are excellent. Unique experience - worth to visit.

There is a bad habit among staff (lifeguards) at the pool. Working time of the pool is until 20:00 and ~ 19:30 (especially if there are not many guests), they are starting to switch off facilities in the pool, start to clean around you - actually they are passing message that you should leave earlier. Probably their work time is also until 20:00, so they are happy if can expel guests ~19:30, so they can clean the pool till 20:00 and go home. So, I think it is better to reduce work time of the poll till 19:30 so the visitors can not have filling of unwanted guest at last half hour.

The staff are absolutely excellant-professional, kind and helpful, especially Gergana and Elena. The Aquatonik has great facilities-pools with jets, an underwater treadmill, a spa, including roman bath, steam room, Finnish sauna and...an ice room for after the sauna-absolutely wonderful. Could not say enough good things about the Balneo! I encourage anyone visiting Bulgaria to stay here!

The hotel is just perfect - great staff, beautiful design, amazing Spa and delicious food. We had a really great weekend and will be returning soon!

First of all I want to say "Thank You" to all the staff. Bravo! I had very good time in the hotel and specially in the SPA ( Maria has fabulous hands). There was special promotion in the hotel and I received as a compliment a free massage ( I don't expect it).A gentle boy explain me about the tea ceremony they make in the Japanese garden.Food was good. I'd like to suggest the hotel for people who wants to relax, and I think it'll be good choice for families with chlidren

I found an excellent hotel. The SPA is marvelous, I was surprised of the ice room.. The pool was very interesting too. I think I'll come back again with my friends in summer.
